We all want to be the best version of ourselves. But how do we get there? Self-reflection and self-awareness are the key. Assessing our values and seeing if we are living our lives based on our values is important. The first step to change is awareness. Reflecting on our actions and determining whether we are acting the way we want to act or if we want to change. The second step in change is to implement changes consciously until they become a habit. This is the road to self-improvement.

In this session, we talk about self-reflection and self-awareness and how they will help us build the best version of ourselves. Then we will dive into our core values that define us and explore many character qualities that we should reflect on to help guide us to help build the person we want to be. Java will provide many stories to provide the audience with real life examples. This will then lead to you having a strong Triangle of You and thus becoming a stronger person.

“Attitude reflects leadership, captain” is a great line from the movie Remember The Titans that signifies how important leadership is in any setting. The attitude of those that you lead will be a direct result of the leadership of the organization. In any organization, a leader must create a culture and environment that people desire to work in. Leadership is about having the right CHARACTER BUILDING qualities and, most importantly, implementing these qualities to create the best culture.

In this session, we will talk about what CHARACTER BUILDING qualities leaders have that create a positive and encouraging culture and environment. A culture where your workers want to continue to grow and learn in, and most importantly feel appreciated and do not want to leave. Java has worked in many cultures that he has strived in and in other cultures he couldn’t wait to leave. He will provide personal stories and challenges that he has faced throughout his leadership opportunities.
